Job details

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

The IT Project teams are small resource groups working closely with business teams, so ability to perform cohesively in this space is key.

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working in this environment, be considered a good fit for a high performing team in a small organisation and have been vetted against the essential and desirable criteria.

This role is Canberra based. AMSA will consider options for candidates to work outside of ACT however Canberra staff are preferred.

This is a new position not a market test.

The role requires BASELINE Security clearance. AMSA may sponsor higher clearances but will not consider candidates that do not currently possess this clearance.

Timeline for start is a guide only and will depend on evaluation and notice period time frames.

About the project

The successful developers will join an inflight portal project program, myAMSA.

myAMSA supports AMSA's organisational strategy by delivering a digital-first approach to maritime regulation, improving customer experience, streamlining business processes, enhancing data capability and enabling more efficient regulatory service delivery. The portal has been developed in-house and will continue to be expanded to support additional services.

Requirements

Criteria

The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages.

  • Strong front-end development skills using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, with experience in modern frameworks such as Vue.js.

  • Strong full-stack development skills, including experience with C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL, and integrating front-end applications with backend services.

  • Experience with Azure and Power Platform integration technologies, such as API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate.

  • Experience working with established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components, including Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with demonstrated experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience with AI and intelligent automation technologies, such as Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI or agent-based solutions.

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure or AI will be highly regarded.
