FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

How often am I paid?

Weekly, fortnightly, or monthly — your choice. Submit an approved timesheet and we process payment on your preferred cycle.

Can I move between agencies?

Yes. We never include restraint of trade or lock-in clauses in our contracts. You stay because the service is good, not because you're contractually obligated. If your circumstances change, you're free to work with another agency without affecting your current role.

Do you provide a transparent rate breakdown?

Yes — every time. Our contracts include a clear rate breakdown covering the charge-out rate billed to the government and all statutory oncosts including super, payroll tax, and workers compensation. You see the full picture before you agree to proceed.

How do contract extensions work?

Around 6–8 weeks before your contract end date, we engage with the procurement contact in your department to begin the extension process. This is also a natural point to discuss rate increases.

Do you negotiate rate increases?

Yes — it's a core part of what we do. We work with you to build a business case based on your changing responsibilities and performance, then negotiate with the department directly.

Can I request Hyperion IT as my agent when my contract goes back to market?

Yes. The BuyICT ICT Labour Hire framework includes a Buyer-Sourced Labour Hire Worker category that allows you to nominate your preferred panel-approved agency. See our Using Your Preferred ICT Recruitment Agent – What to Expect for a plain-English overview and an email template you can adapt.

I have a restraint clause - can I still switch agencies?

Restraint of trade clauses are common in contractor agreements, but they are highly fact-specific. Whether a clause applies will usually depend on the wording, scope, timing, and the circumstances of the engagement. Broad blanket restraints may be difficult to enforce, but each clause should be assessed carefully on its own terms.

Timing is worth considering. Switching at contract renewal is generally more straightforward than mid-engagement. If you are thinking about a move, it is sensible to review the clause and consider the timing before acting.

If you are unsure about your specific clause, feel free to contact us and we can talk it through. You can also read our plain-English guide: Restraint Clauses in ICT Contracting

What clearance levels do you support?

We work with contractors across all clearance levels — Baseline, NV1, NV2, and PV. We also support contractors going through initial clearance assessment.

How fast can you source cleared ICT contractors?

We can source cleared candidates within days through our established networks across ACT, QLD, NSW, VIC, and SA. We regularly respond to urgent resourcing needs, often within 48-72 hours.

How does your transparent rate model work for buyers?

You receive full visibility of the rate structure: hourly salary and all statutory oncosts. No hidden components, no negotiating in the dark.

Are you compliant with labour hire frameworks?

Yes. Hyperion IT currently holds labour hire licences in ACT and VIC, and has previously held a labour hire licence in Queensland. We maintain strict compliance with the relevant labour hire frameworks and regulatory requirements that apply to our engagements.

Do you support short-term and long-term engagements?

Yes - we support both short-term surge resourcing and long-term program engagements across a wide range of ICT disciplines.
