About the Role

The department is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to meet emerging needs of the department and business areas. 

Key Duties

As a Test Analyst, you will be required to: 

  • Analyse written specifications, user stories, and requirements to create test cases with effective test coverage. 

  • Write, review and execute test cases and record results in Azure DevOps. 

  • Work with others to prioritise testing efforts and test case execution in line with the test strategy and test plan. 

  • Identify, document, report, and track defects and issues as they are found in testing. 

  • Track defects through to an agreed conclusion. 

  • Work with the ability to be proactive, flexible, and agile, whilst managing changing goals and scope in a multidisciplinary agile project team.  

Requirements

Criteria

Essential Criteria

  1. Relevant experience undertaking system and integration testing of enterprise-class systems as part of a multi-disciplinary team, using manual testing methods in agile delivery.

  2. Well-developed testing skills, including the ability to write, review and execute complex test cases and a good understanding of software testing topics such as Test Phases, Test reporting, Test Traceability, Defect Triage and the Defect Management Lifecycle.

  3. Demonstrated experience testing APIs, Azure DevOps and SQL (SQL Visual Studio) in context of setting up and evaluating testing.

  4. Relevant experience working as part of a team to prioritise testing efforts and test case execution, and report and track the resolution of defects/issues in alignment with a test plan and test strategy.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Previous experience in a Government Agency is desired, including the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
